High Noon / Up & Down – 7″ Single (1978)

“High Noon” is about being on the other side of what gives you the most anxiety. It’s the most enjoyable to play live however because the chords are somehow cheery.

“Up & Down” came from the “What goes up must come down” idea but took off when Steve began doing all kinds of effects, ambulance sirens and helis taking off using only a couple of pedals. Pretty soon we had a 3-way guitar solo between myself, Steve and Gaz (who played the higher notes on his bass) and which sounded like an angry intersection at an accident scene with lots of injuries, and arguments. But we still ended up staying friends in the end.
